St. James Armenian Church Location: Watertown, MA

Project Overview:

Challenge:
Constructed in 1931, St. James Armenian Church in Watertown, MA was experiencing water infiltration that was damaging sheet rock walls, masonry window openings, rugs and pews. Seeking efficient and cost-effective solutions, members of the church staff and building committee contacted Alpha Weatherproofing in 2006.

Alpha’s evaluation revealed that all the cold-rolled copper and lead-coated copper metal flashings, wall caps, gutters and details had worn through, and had begun directing water into the building.

The Alpha Weatherproofing Solution:
The Alpha team proposed a comprehensive plan and process to replace or repair the compromised flashings, wall caps, gutters, and details in order to restore and weatherproof the structure.

Church representatives embraced Alpha’s proposal, and the Alpha Team restored the church, enabling new generations of parishioners to once again enjoy a structurally sound place to gather and worship.
